Urban Gardens in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Pt 3 - "Your Garden"
This urban garden in a mixed commercial/ residential area of Edmonton is an interesting expression of private AND public urban agriculture. It's a boulevard garden on a residential street just west of downtown, tended by the owner of the house, but she's placed a few benches, and signs to welcome and encourage passersby to pick and eat as they wish. My friend Tracy walked me over there one day. She used to work nearby and it was the office's mint supply for Friday afternoon mojitos. How brilliant.
This boulevard garden was small, but contained most common herbs, a few different types of mint, a saskatoonberry bush, pole beans, broccoli plugs, lettuces, etc. It doesn't take much space to produce a lot of aromatics.

That is simply lovely. How generous.
Just picked a few handfuls of Evans cherries from there this evening. Also grabbed some sorrel.
